114學年度PLC 專業學習社群時間:115年5月4日

Today\'s open demo lesson by Teacher Cherry was a highlight of our PLC journey. Her Grade 7 students explored \"The Story of the Lost Son\" through storytelling, Reader\'s Theater, and a Candy Ceremony where they practiced saying \"Thank you\" and \"I\'m sorry\" to each other in English — and you could see the emotion was real.

What stood out most was how Cherry used creative, no-translation strategies to help students understand deep themes like forgiveness through movement, props, and games. 6 FETs and 15 LETs were in the room observing, and through inquiry-based observation our teacher-groups explored:

AI integration — Cherry\'s use of Canva and AI-generated images and videos to bring the parable to life. Motivation through multimodal learning on-ramps — from Brain Riddles to Story Statues.Lesson flow and procedures — storytelling, the Candy Ceremony, and the Fact or Fake Auction. Challenges and teaching skills — scaffolding forgiveness as a theme without L1 translation

Every observer walked away with evidence-based strategies they can bring into their own classrooms this week.

During the post-lesson discussion, both local and foreign teachers shared observations and borrowed ideas from each other — that\'s the kind of collaborative growth we\'re building here in Miaoli. Proud of Teacher Cherry for opening her doors, and proud of every observer who came ready to borrow, not judge.

今天 Cherry 老師的公開觀課是我們 PLC 專業學習社群旅程中的一大亮點。她的七年級學生透過說故事、讀者劇場，以及一場「糖果儀式」來探索「浪子回頭」的故事——在儀式中，學生們用英文互相說「Thank you」和「I\'m sorry」，你可以感受到那份情感是真實的。

最令人印象深刻的是，Cherry 老師運用了創意十足、完全不依賴翻譯的教學策略，透過肢體動作、道具和遊戲，幫助學生理解「寬恕」這樣深刻的主題。當天共有 6 位外師和 15 位本地英語老師在場觀課，透過探究式觀察，教師小組深入探討了以下面向：

AI 融入教學 — Cherry 老師運用 Canva 及 AI 生成的圖片與影片，讓寓言故事活靈活現多元學習入口的學習動機 — 從「腦筋急轉彎」到「故事雕像」課程流程與教學步驟 — 說故事、糖果儀式，以及「真假拍賣」遊戲教學挑戰與技巧 — 在不使用母語翻譯的情況下，搭建「寬恕」主題的學習鷹架

每位觀課老師都帶著具體可行、有證據支持的教學策略離開，並能在這週內運用到自己的課堂中。

在課後討論中，本地老師和外籍老師彼此分享觀察、互相借鏡——這正是我們在苗栗正在建立的協作成長文化。為勇敢打開教室大門的 Cherry 老師感到驕傲，也為每一位帶著學習心態前來觀課的老師感到驕傲。
