A Glimpse into the PLC Demo Class Event at Chiao Elementary School (May 6, 2026)
Teacher Katrine\'s PLC demo class turned a standard lesson on food into an immersive experience!
By blending textbook lessons with Taiwan’s unique flavors, she gave students an authentic way to practice English while deepening their understanding of what makes local food special.
The lesson centered on the 4Cs of Student Engagement. Through the components of Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, and Critical Thinking, students activated their prior knowledge and became decision-makers in the class activities. Teacher Katrine also used Instruction Checking Questions (ICQs) to keep everyone on track and on task.
We hope this inspires the teacher-participants to design similar classes. When we prioritize student engagement, we move past the textbook and give our students the chance to truly discover the world through language.

Katrine 老師在 PLC 精彩的示範教學，讓原本平凡的食物主題，變成令人身歷其境的沉浸式學習!
她巧妙地將課本內容與臺灣特色美食融合，讓學生在練習英文的同時，也能更深層地認識在地飲食文化。
這堂課的主軸是「提升學生參與的 4C 架構」。透過創意、溝通、協作與批判性思考，學生不再只是被動聽課，而是能靈活運用舊有經驗，成為課堂活動中的決策者。Katrine 老師還以 ICQs（指令確認問題）的方式來隨時掌握大家的學習狀況。
希望這次的分享能帶給參與的老師們更多靈感，並運用在類似的課程中。當我們重視學生的參與感，就能打破課本的限制，讓學生學會用語言去發現更大的世界！
