This is my second day in Australia, and I’ve already noticed many differences compared to Taiwan. On the first day, we arrived in Australia at seven o’clock in the morning, and it was quite cold because it\'s winter here! After that, we went to our homestay, where we’ll be staying for three weeks. Our homestay mom has been very welcoming, and we spent some time chatting about our journey.
We are studying at Marsden High School, which is really large and has many students. It’s interesting to see students from so many different places. Each of us has a buddy for the three weeks we’re here, and my buddy is a very sweet girl who has treated us kindly. She showed us around the classroom and helped us understand the lessons. I gave her a key ring charm called “Taiwan LV,” and she was thrilled to receive it, which made me very happy.
One of the most noticeable differences from Taiwan is the absence of motorcycles on the road. While motorcycles are common in Taiwan, they are not as prevalent in Australia. Australians tend to drive cars most of the time. Additionally, in Taiwan, the sky usually gets dark around five-thirty in winter, but here in Australia, it gets dark by six, which is later than in Taiwan. It’s exciting to experience so many new things in Australia, and I’m looking forward to the next three weeks.
