My father worked his entire life in different parts of my country, mostly away from home. However, any time he comes home, he would take us visit different places around the country. When I was young, I looked forward to the day my father would come home. I would be full of excitement, because I knew that we would be going to a place that I had never seen before. My most cherished memories where visits to zoos, beaches and historical sites. My first time visiting a zoo is a core memory that I will always cherish. It was first time I saw monkeys, lions and elephants. I was both terrified and curious at the same time wanting to touch and feed all the animals I saw. My father was a nature loving person, so he will always take us to beach. Going to the beach was nothing like going to the lake or swimming pool. The ocean had large waves that would come crashing into the beach. I was so small that the waves would just throw me around. I also got to walk down the beach and find colourful shells on the shore. I made beautiful necklaces, which I always gave to my grandmother when we got home. I didn’t spend a lot of time with my father as I would have wanted but I’ll forever be grateful for the time I got to spend with him.
