【Escape from Dr. Bob’s secret chamber 逃離鮑伯博士的秘密房間】 by Teacher Roger Nzally
A recent teaching highlight shared by Foreign English Teacher (FET) Roger is an `escape room’ activity organized by the English Department of Datung Elementary School. This fun-filled half-day activity was held on December 21, 2022 and was organized for grades five and six. The goal of the activity was to encourage students to utilize the amazing story books and English learning materials in the school library.
The theme of the activity was “escape from Dr. Bob’s secret chamber”. The FET played the role of Dr. Bob who is an evil doctor that lures people into his secret chamber. Students were required to solve different riddles and puzzles which ultimately led them to find the secret code to unlock both a treasure box in Dr. Bob’s office and escape from his secret Chamber.
The activity was enjoyed by students and they put in massive effort to solve all the riddles and puzzles in the escape room activity. The activity promoted teamwork among students, independent thinking and more importantly usage of English beyond the classroom. Well done to the English team at Datung!
最近由外籍英語教師Roger分享的教學亮點是大同國小舉辦的“逃離鮑伯博士的秘密房間”活動。這個活動對象是針對五年級和六年級學生。目的是鼓勵學生利用學校圖書館裡豐富的故事書和英語學習資源。
在此次活動中,Roger老師扮演邪惡的鮑伯博士,誘使學生進入他的秘密房間。學生需要解決不同的謎題和拼圖,最終找到密碼,解鎖鮑伯博士辦公室的百寶箱,逃離密室。
學生們都非常喜愛此次活動,他們投入了大量的精力解開逃脫密室的所有謎題和拼圖。本次活動增進了學生之間的團隊合作、獨立思考,更重要的是,學生在課堂以外使用英語的能力大增。大同國小的英語團隊真是太棒了!
